thing-o-nym (thing • o • nym): A word for an object or quality that is popularly believed to be without a name; a “thingy,” “doo-dad,” “thingamajig,” or “whatchamacallit.” Thing-o-nyms is an illustrated alphabet book that highlights words of this nature, with a hidden letter in each illustration.
